This week we finish our series on Luke, chapter 13 by looking at Jesus' sorrow over the future destruction of Jerusalem by the Roman army. Although they had many opportunities to turn to God, the people of the city refused. The theme, as with much of chapter 13, is that time can run out. We can never count on tomorrow. Today is the day to turn towards God.
Some people believe all roads lead to God. Actually, that's true. All of us, no matter which road we travel, will stand before the judgment seat of God. But Jesus says the road we travel determines our fate. Here's Luke's account of what Jesus says about the road we choose:
Luke 13:24-25 (NLTSE) [24] "Work hard to enter the narrow door to God's Kingdom, for many will try to enter but will fail. [25] When the master of the house has locked the door, it will be too late. You will stand outside knocking and pleading, 'Lord, open the door for us!' But he will reply, 'I don't know you or where you come from.'
