Talking Points - Part 3

If God is working out his sovereign plan, why is it important for Christians to vote? Does God's plan depend on human decisions? How do we strive for Christian unity in such divided times?

How do we deal with the results of the election, especially
if "our side" loses.

Watch today's service for a Christian perspective.

What's more important to you? Politics or people?

What answer would we get if we asked some people who know you?

Our first priority as Christians is to convince people that God loves them. That's hard to do if their view of us is obscured by our focus on politics.

Join us as Nick Conway helps us focus on what God has to say about how we interact with those around us, especially in these difficult times.

How could God allow evil people to be in positions of authority?  Pontius Pilate, who sentenced Jesus to death, or the Pharaoh that enslaved and oppressed the Hebrews, and worst of all ... the next President of the United States?

Well, it feels that way.  We live in a society obsessed with politics, driven by fear.  How do we as Christians process that?  What would God have us do?

God gave us an answer these difficult questions.  Dig into today's message to hear God's perspective on our society and his plan.

What is your worldview?

We all have one. Our worldview is what shapes our understanding and interpretation of the events of life; the multitude of voices and ideas that demand our attention? What is your worldview, and how was it formed? And is there a better way to understand life.

That's what we cover in this week's service from Grace Bible Church, as we finish our Wise Up series.

The Wisdom of Pursuing Peace

Thanks for your patience as we work out some livestream bugs. The September 20th service is now available on youtube.

Here's a summary:

Jesus said "Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God." But how can we be peacemakers when we don't have peace our selves? That takes wisdom. In the Bible we find the accumulated wisdom of the ages, preserved for us. And that's where we find the key to peace, even in these troubled times. It starts by finding peace with God. Then we can be peacemakers to those around us, and people will see us as the children of God.

Finding Financial Wisdom

We live in a world that lives in constant stress, and one of our primary stressors is uncertainty over financial issues. The future is even more uncertain these days, due to the COVID shutdown, social unrest, and even the wildfires raging in the western part of our nation.

But God does not want us to live in stress and fear, especially over financial issues. Join us today as we see what Jesus has to say about money.

The Wisdom of Perseverance

It's so important to stand strong in difficult or radical times. We're living in radical times, and while we hope things get better, wisdom demands we are realistic in our view of the future. It may get worse. Today we look at God's wisdom on how to remain strong when trouble presses in from every side.

Also, yesterday was our first attempt at livestreaming our service. It worked well on facebook, but had glitches on youtube. So here is the full service in a stable presentation:  Click here to watch the service.

Words. The most powerful - the most dangerous - weapons in the world. They can destroy nations, families, and place life-long crushing burdens on the back of the innocen. And yet, words chosen wisely can bring encouragement, strength and healing. How can we use wisdom in choosing the words we say and the words we listen to? Listen to this week's message to gain some insight.
