Scriptures: Mark 12:29-31

Pastor Dave explains how important it is to Love God and Others. John 3:16 say, "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believed in him will not perish but have eternal life".  We can show our love to God by obeying his commandments. We keep God's commandments because we love Him, and we desire to please him. Those commandments are designed to teach us how to love him and how to love others.

Scriptures: 1 John 4:8

In our fourth week of advent Pastor Dave speaks about love. Love really can change the world, but we're just not very good at it. And we can confuse unconditional love with a warm feeling and that's not what God expects from us. He wants us to love unconditionally. John 3:16 "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life".

Scriptures: Philippians 4:4

In week 3 of It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year? Pastor Dave talks about Joy and how we can find divine joy. He reassures us that we can find that divine joy by the connection that we have with God, "Joy is the sign of a close connection; a sign of the presence of the Holy Spirit-one of the fruits of the Spirit".

Scriptures: Luke 2:8-14

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year? Part 2 In Christ, peace has come to a world torn by hatred and violence. So where is this peace that Christians have been talking about for nearly 2000 years? We can find peace in three forms: Peace with God, Peace with others and peace of mind and heart.

Scriptures: Romans 8:24-25

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year? Usually, when we say, "I hope," we really mean "I wish." Now Christian hope is not wishful thinking or a temporary illusion-it's the anticipation of the sure thing. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God's inner sanctuary.

In Part 4 of Family Resemblance we learn that in a spiritual sense, true disciples should look and act like Christ. Christ showed us how to be true disciples by having a true desire to please God, give sacrificially of time, talent, and treasure, actively involved in the body of Christ and to actively develop other disciples.

Pastor Dave helps us to understand the difference between true disciples and false disciples. The statement that true disciples are actively involved in the church body rules out the common idea that says, "I don't have to go to church to be a Christian."  1 Corinthians 12:12 says, "All of you are Christ's body, and each of you is a part of it."

Scriptures: Colossians 5:9

As we heard in last week's sermon, God wants us to be true disciple with the desire to please him. We must have a willingness to give sacrificially of our time, talent and treasure. We stack our priorities without finding the time for God. Pastor Dave explains that we must make time for our relationship with God, and to serve him as well. It's never too late to become a true disciple.
