Scriptures: Psalms 9:9-10

In part 2 of David, Pastor Dave talks about the killer giants that David had to kill. Those 3 giants were isolation, anger and fear. Sometimes we forget that God has our backs. David knew God had plans for him. But he didn't trust God to make them happen.

Scriptures: Psalms 25:1-5

We have started a new series called David! Pastor Dave says that as humans, we tend to place our hope in who and what we think we can we depend on. But that's not God's plan. He wants us to depend on him. We see through David's story that by having complete faith in God, we can eliminate the fear in our lives.

The Church is a community where people are connected to each other, caring for each other, and living life together. Jesus has mandated two ordinances for the church to observe and that Baptism and The Lord's Supper. Pastor Dave digs deeper in part 3 of The Church.

Scriptures: Ephesians 4:7-11

Guest speaker Aaron Seeger explains that the unity of our Church is so important. Christ has granted us all with a special gift so that we may use them in perfect harmony. It's our responsibility to build up the Church and to bless others with those gifts.

Scriptures: Ephesians 6:11-12

Today we started a new series on what "The Church" means. In the bible, "Church" never refers to a building or a place. It always refers to the people who assemble. We do not just "come to church." We are the Church. By being united as The Church we can overcome the reality of spiritual warfare. God's purposeĀ° was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. Ephesians 3:10

Scriptures: Acts 1:4-8

The Trinity cannot be complete without the Holy Spirit. Everything the Spirit says and does points to Jesus. It was through the power of the Holy Spirit that Jesus was born. Romans 8:16 says this, "For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God's children." The Holy Spirit is there to help illuminate us with how to see and understand the things of God.

Scriptures: 1 John 2:1

On part 2 of the Trinity we hear how important Jesus is. Jesus came to teach and preach, and to give his life as a sacrifice for sin. But he is also an important part of the Trinity. The Trinity is One God in three persons, each with the same nature and the same essence, in compound unity with the other members.

Scriptures: Romans 1:20

Does God exist? The belief that God is one God, comprised of three persons, divides Christianity from any other belief system. We here at GBC believe that God, Creator of all things, holy, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in a loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 5:17

People want to believe that we, as individual are basically good. But then why are our own lives so messed up? It's are rebellion against God that prevents us from being closer to him. We can be closer to God if we submit to his will. To be saved means to be lifted from our state of total depravity, to be cleaned, healed, restored. To be like Jesus.

Scriptures: Galatians 5:16

We need to understand that Christianity is not about us getting into heaven. God's plan is to get heaven into us, to change us into brother and sisters of Jesus. We can make the choice to follow Jesus, and God makes the changes in our lives. Galatians 5:16 states this, "So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves."
